The crew reconvenes to catch up on the Acura Integra, Polestar 2 single motor, Toyota Corolla Cross, Ford F-150 Raptor and Jeep Grand Cherokee 4XE. Since they haven’t spoken since before Woodward Dream Cruise and Monterey Car week, Robbie and Nicole share their impressions of the Dodge Charger Daytona SRT concept. Robbie tells us about the Acura Precision Concept EV and we discuss naming Acura’s first EV the ZDX. There was also the Lincoln L100 concept and the Meyers Manx EV. A Swedish study says touchscreens are bad, and we all agree. Lamborghini says it will need more than power to compete in the EV age. An Australian Bank will stop providing financing for ICEs in 2025 and sales of new ICEs are getting banned in 2035. This week in the garage, Sam drives the Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing (unfortunately with an automatic transmission) and Nicole gets the new Acura Integra (spoiler, Mr Nicole who owned an original Integra back in the day approves). Unfortunately, a flight cancellation means Nicole didn’t make it to Utah to drive the new Cadillac Lyriq, Sam and Robbie did get to try it out. Nicole did however, get to drive the second-generation Honda HR-V. At Goodwood, Polestar demoed the prototype of the 5, their new 884-hp GT sedan and Sam went for a spin in Ford’s new simulator. This week the whole crew did some travelling with Nicole and Sam going to New York to drive the new Jeep Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer while Roberto went to Monterey in a Lamborghini Urus and got some seat time in a 1957 Mercedes-Benz 300SL Roadster. Robbie also got to check out the new Countach while he was there. While Roberto didn’t go to Acura’s event, we discuss the return of the Integra in 2022. Other stuff we drove included Nicole’s time with the 2021 Toyota Sienna, Hyundai Santa Cruz and Nissan Frontier while Sam came home to the Audi SQ7. Finally, there is discussion of Nissan possibly jumping into the compact truck segment with an electric example and some listener questions including whether yellow is a suitable color for a sports car. links 2022 Jeep Wagoneer first drive Lamborghini Countach LPI 800-4 Acura Integra is… Read More »Classic Nameplates Return
