It’s been nearly a decade since Audi first showed a concept car dubbed e-Tron. That first example at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show was an R8-like sports car that after several years of development, never actually made it to production. In the intervening years, following the diesel emissions scandal Audi and its corporate parent Volkswagen have made a full-blown pivot to electrification starting with the new e-Tron Quattro SUV.
